Whenever I visit Julie, I always leave with something I wouldn’t expect to - a little candle, some truffles, or quite possibly a Lord of the Rings cd. I stopped by today to borrow some acrylics that I had run out of, and Dustin said, “I can see you two borrowing eggs from each other in future, or flour, or any manner of art supplies when you run out.” I hope that is true....

One of the best things is taking a Lush bath with a cup of tea, dark chocolate, candles, and a book at hand, and just staying there for half of the night. Ah.
Also, this just in: My cat likes to eat saltine crackers.

Eric came home this weekend on an impromptu train trip, and needless to say, it was very, very good. We went to the public market, where we could hold hands and wander around under a clear sky and try to wind a path through all of the interesting local people with matching hats and vendors selling cherries and herbs and lots of root-y things. I’ve always wanted to take him there, because I...

Eric won’t even be home for valentine’s day…I hope so much that he returns this weekend. I am very close to just driving to Berea this moment in my pajamas so we don’t have to be apart any longer.

A fantastic little night has been had with the ever lovely Carly Dean at Boulder Coffee, new addition to places I would like to make my home. Nights like this, snowy, quiet city, warm cup, a good friend, good music, make the winter bearable (especially when I am missing you).

Just to keep this update thing goin’: I was awarded a scholarship to Oneonta and (a big one to) Wells! I truly wish universities were movable.

an attempt at description
The last few days have been a dream. To spend all days and nights with my love has made me feel like I’ve passed into a new world again. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were full of adventures and I think that it’s possible that this was the best weekend that I’ve ever passed. Just wandering around at night with Eric, ducking into buildings when we got too cold or the wind blew too...

I’ve been accepted at Baldwin-Wallace, with a pretty awesome scholarship and grant! YES!
I am voyaging to visit Eric at school in 1 day. …this is a dream.
Although this week has been one of the worst, my spirits were lifted a little today at work. This young guy came up to me while I was crouched on the floor shelving something about gardens and asked if I could recommend any interesting books to him because he decided just then that he wanted to actually start reading. That is just so great. We ended up talking about how important books are to...

I can’t wait to feel the sun and warmth again. Being able to wear things that my arms stick out of and not having to wear a thousand layers (something that I dislike even more than the noise of a spoon in a coffee cup) will be so refreshing. I feel stuck inside the same four sweaters and I long for chiffon and floaty white skirts! And for collecting herbs from our garden and reading on the...
